1. What's RAP & what does it stand for?

RAP stands for Respect All People - Whakamana Tangata. It's a training programme that offers people who work with young people another way of helping young people out sorting out bad behaviour and replacing it with positive stuff 'cos it's not about us - it's the behaviour - you know what we do when we lose the plot aye!

2. Who's RAP for?

RAP - Respect All People is for kids aged between 12 & 17 years and also for adults and people who work with this age group to offer another way of getting information out about not using violence

3. What's RAP got to do with me?

It offers us a chance to get into some positive and good behaviour, you know like, looking at the 'bigger picture' and using creative stuff to get us to express our own feelings and opinions about us and where we're at in our own turf. It's another tool that people who work with young people can use in their work to help spread the word about RESPECT!

4. How do you know it works?

RAP has been building up cred in Motueka, Fielding, Wairarapa and Manukau and the feedback has been tu meke! And now it's time to see what other people think about it by coming along to do the training. You can check out the korero on the resource page.

5. So what's in it for me?

Whatever you want from it - RAP is about making sure we're able to live in safe communities, that we can change our bad behaviour and find creative ways to express our opinions. It' another way and opportunity to make a difference.

6. So what does it mean to RAP?

In a nutshell - RAP - Respect All People is exactly about that - R E S P E C T and spreading the word. RAP is about our opinions being heard and respected, it's about changing environments where young people hang out so that the adults there are modelling RESPECT and you feel like you're being heard. Yo - RESPECT ALL PEOPLE - Whakamana Tangata - chur chur!!!

7. So how do I spread the word?

By getting involved with RAP when it hits your town! By the time you've finished the course, you'll be walking the talk by knowing what RESPECT is... RESPECT for yourself... RESPECT for your whanau... RESPECT for your school mates and teachers... RESPECT for older people... RESPECT for anyone... basically it's like this - if you have RESPECT for yourself, then you'll have RESPECT for those who play a big part in your life... it all flows from that one word RESPECT ALL PEOPLE... so come on let's RAP!
